Digital & BIM Landscape Lead | Dar Al Handasah

Giuliana Santos

Giuliana Santos is a digital strategist and landscape architect with over 13 years of experience leading innovation in the built environment across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Her career spans major multidisciplinary projects in infrastructure, transport, nature restoration, and urban design, where she has championed the integration of digital technologies to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and environmental intelligence.

She has held leadership roles at firms such as WSP, where she connected 17 offices across the UK and contributed to global digital transformation initiatives from the U.S. to New Zealand. Currently, at DAR, Giuliana leads digital strategy across six international offices, coordinating digital delivery, upskilling teams, and enabling scalable, site-responsive workflows that integrate real-time data, immersive technologies, and collaborative tools.

With a background in landscape architecture, Giuliana approaches digital transformation with a systems-thinking perspective—bringing together infrastructure, environmental performance, and human context. Her work focuses on making digital innovation meaningful, especially in large-scale projects such as HS2 and Dublin MetroLink, where aligning data, people, and purpose is critical to long-term success.

She is an active member of the UK Landscape Institute’s Digital Practice Group and Women in BIM, and was awarded the BIM Hero Award at the 2022 BIM Coordinators Summit. Giuliana is passionate about bridging disciplines and geographies to shape sustainable, inclusive, and tech-enabled cities—where digital tools enhance not only decision-making and operations but also the lived experience of urban life.
