Hamzeh Nawar

Hamzeh Nawar is a seasoned Digital Innovation Leader with over 16 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data-driven project delivery. Currently serving as Unit Digital Innovation Lead at Mott MacDonald, Hamzeh has played a pivotal role in transforming digital practices across landmark developments in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Holding dual Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning, Hamzeh bridges the gap between engineering and data science. His expertise spans the full BIM lifecycle—from execution planning to asset management integration and process automation. He has led initiatives that integrate AI and Business Intelligence tools to enhance project efficiency, optimize workflows, and unlock new value in construction technology.

Hamzeh’s AI work includes developing optimization solutions for power networks and dry utilities using genetic algorithms and deep learning, as well as generating building envelopes through genetic programming. He has also integrated AI with business intelligence to analyse and enhance masterplans, supporting smarter urban development.

Previously, as Associate Director at REDSEA Global, he led scalable analytics infrastructure and executive dashboards, deploying AI solutions to support proactive decision-making and sustainability goals. He is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and holds a RICS Certificate in BIM for Project Managers.

At the Digital Construction Summit, Hamzeh will share insights on AI governance, data quality, and the ethical boundaries of automation in construction.
